This a very low effort flavorful Mac + Cheese that makes party prep extra simple.
1 teaspoon Kosher Sea Salt
1 teaspoons ground White Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Dry Mustard Powder
1/2 teaspoon Granulated Garlic
1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
4+ Tablespoons Butter
1 pound Large Elbow Macaroni Noodles, rinsed
2 Cups Whole Milk
2 12 oz cans Evaporated Milk
14 oz Smoked Cheddar Cheese, grated 1/2 cup reserved
8 oz America Cheese, cubed or sliced
Mix together spices in a small bowl: salt, pepper, mustard, garlic and paprika.
Grease the inside of a slow cooker/crockpot with butter.
Add half of the noodles to the crock pot.
Layer over the noodles: 1/2 the smoked cheddar, 1/2 the American Cheese, 1/2 spice blend.
Add remaining noodles and layer again: 1/2 the smoked cheddar, 1/2 the American Cheese, 1/2 spice blend.
Add pieces of butter over all.
Mix together milks and slowly pour over all.
Cover and cook on low for 1 hour.
Uncover and stir. Recover and cook an additional hour.
Uncover and stir. Top with reserved cheese and cook an additional 30 minutes to one how on low, until noodles are cooked and sauce is thickened. This time will vary from one cooker to another.
Once mac and cheese is as desired, lower heat to warm. Serve immediately or hold for party self-service.
