1 15oz Can Dark Cherries in Syrup
2T Chai Spice, I use Oaktown Spice Shop Chai Masala spice blend.
You can use any blend you like, but note this does not include tea. If you want to mix yourself the Chai Spice (Masala) yourself, a blend to try:
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Ginger
1/2 teaspoon Cardamom
2 whole Star Anise
1/2 teaspoon Black Peppercorns
1/2 teaspoon Clove
Separate cherries and syrup. Reserve cherries and pour syrup into a small pan.
Add Chai Spice to the syrup and bring to a simmer over low heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Allow to cool to room temperature and continue to steep.
Strain syrup and add cherries back to the syrup.
Enjoy immediately or store refrigerated.
