Star Anise Poached Cherries and Wine Syrup

Ingredients

1 cup Sugar

1 cup Red Wine

2 whole Star Anise

2 cups Cherries, halved and pitted


Preparation

  • Add the sugar, wine and star anise to a saucepan over medium heat.

  • Stir until sugar is dissolved and syrup begins to boil.

  • Cut the heat, add in the cherries.

  • Once cooled to room temperature, transfer to lidded container and store refrigerated.
